Welcome Statement

Wishing Well Nursery was started over 25 years ago by Linda and Paul Dargan.

“My passion is childcare” said Linda. “Even though I became a qualified NNEB now over 36 years ago and have worked in this sector ever since. I still love it, supporting children`s development, spending time and getting to know the children and their families. We wanted to provide a quality service and one that included an afterschool and school holiday club so we could support parents through all their childcare needs. Paul and I chose this building to make this into our nursery for its great location, space and its outdoor areas. It’s in the town centre but right next to Myrtle Park and lots of community facilities.

“The website only gives you a sense of what my great team do at Wishing Well every day, so please do contact us and come and have a look round. I recognise it’s a big decision to put your child into a nursery so we want to give you as much information as possible and for you to meet the staff and look round the nursery in person.”

Our vision

Our vision is to create an environment that is positive caring and impact full so children will feel secure and so be able to develop holistically.

From birth to 5 is one of rapid development and Early childhood education provides essential foundations for future learning.

We provide a safe secure, social and emotional environment where a child in a less formal atmosphere can learn through play developing, experimenting and develop skills.

All children should access the EYFS curriculum at an appropriate level for their needs. Teaching is a word that early year’s practitioners don’t associate with our role, as we haven’t undertaken any formal teaching qualifications. However, early years practitioners are teachers, we teach children every single day.

This is why we are proud of ourselves to have received an Ofsted rating of good.
